Enough as You Are

by Raihana
Oct 07, 2026

Hey there,

October has a way of piling on. The year is winding down, and suddenly there is pressure to “finish strong,” to prove something before the calendar resets. This month, we are sitting with a different truth: you are enough as you are. Not after the next milestone. Not once you get it together. Right now.

Raihana’s Rewind

A client said something to me last week that stopped me mid-sentence. She said, “I feel like I have to earn the right to sit down.”

I recognized that feeling immediately. The idea that rest is a reward, not a right. That you have to cross off enough, produce enough, give enough before you are allowed to stop.

I used to wait until I was completely depleted before I let myself pause. Now I am practicing something different: resting before I am empty. It still feels uncomfortable. But I am learning that my worth was never tied to my output.

Your Reflection (Journal Prompt)

Set a timer for 3 minutes. Write without editing.

Prompt: When was the last time you rested without guilt? What would it look like to give yourself permission to stop today — not because you earned it, but because you deserve it?

Your Moment to Pause (Sensory Reset)

The Grounding 5-4-3-2-1 (90 seconds, anywhere)

When your mind is racing with “not enough,” bring yourself back to your body:

  • Name 5 things you can see

  • Name 4 things you can touch

  • Name 3 things you can hear

  • Name 2 things you can smell

  • Name 1 thing you can taste

You are here. You are whole. That is enough.

Words That See You

I know the voice that says, “You could be doing more.” The one that whispers you are falling behind while everyone else has it figured out.

No one has it figured out. And the woman who looks like she does? She is probably exhausted too.

You do not need to be more productive to be more worthy. You do not need to prove your value through your output. You are not a machine. You are a person who deserves to feel enough, exactly as she is, today.

Now that you have taken a moment for yourself, here is what’s coming up this month if you’d like to expand that moment further.

“You alone are enough. You have nothing to prove to anybody.” — Maya Angelou

I see you in the trying. I see you in the tired. And I want you to know: you do not have to earn this moment. It is already yours.

With stillness and warmth,

Raihana

Letting Go of the List
Hey there, September brings that familiar wave: new routines, longer lists, the quiet pressure to “get back on track.” This month, we are practicing one thing: letting go of the list. Not abandoning responsibility. Just releasing the lie that the list defines your worth. You are not behind. You are right here. Raihana’s Rewind Last week I wrote out everything I “should” have done that day. Fou...

I created Permission to Pause for women like us — women who carry a lot, move fast, and rarely give themselves a ...
