What is Coaching?

Coaching is a process that helps you learn deep insights about yourself and act on them to live your best life. Coaching is an investment in yourself, similar to investing in a course to learn a new skill.

But it's much more than that because coaching helps you understand who you are being right now and gives you the opportunity to decide if you want to change it and if so, discover how.

You are not alone in this journey. Your coach is your dedicated companion on this journey of transformation, helping you evaluate your thoughts, beliefs, assumptions and how you view your world in an objective, nonjudgmental way.

Your coach will also help you identify and get really specific about what goals you want to pursue, plus help you figure out what roadbkocks lie in your way and co-create action steps with you.

 Coaching and Mentoring

 

Coaching is about co-creating a relationship between the client and coach, where a trusting environment is established for the client to engage with the coach in a thought-provoking conversation, all in a safe space.

The stronger the trust between client and coach, the more powerful the insights will be derived from each conversation, which will help the client create action steps towards their desired outcome.

A coach enables the client to feel heard, where the coach completely focuses their attention on the client …listening and observing for clues to help the client gain clarity on what stands in the way of achieving their goal or making progress.

A coach will focus on helping you get what you want out of each conversation and therefore a coach will not share their own experience or their own opinion unless you grant the coach permission to share it.

Coaching is different from mentoring in that a coach can have a different experience than you to guide you toward achieving your goals. A coach is an expert in the coaching process. The coach empowers the client to derive insights because the client is the expert in their own life.

Real, raw conversations

We start with building a solid relationship with the client. The first session is all about getting to know one another before diving in. This helps to create a safe space for the client to open up about the real issue they are facing. Each conversation between coach and client is goal oriented, where the coach will start by asking the client what they'd like to accomplish by the end of their session that day.

 

Deep Insights

The coach is solely focused on listening and observing the client, to help them discover insights. An insight is a deep understanding about a person or thing (quote dictionary). Insights are essential to the coaching process as they allow clients to see their worlds differently, from perspectives and angles they have not considered (because of their own perceptions, biases, assumptions and beliefs). Once an insight is discovered, the coach and client will co-create the next steps, whether they decide if they want to move towards an action or continue discovering more insights.

 

Shift Energy

Often, we get in our own way of identifying and achieving our goals. This could be because of what we learned growing up, the influence of those in our inner circle, external factors outside of our control and even our inner critic that judges us and tells us in some way or another that we're not good enough or capable. As a COR.E Energy Coach, Raihana is also focused on observing any shifts in energy and gently encouraging the client to shift their energy through listening to the client, making them feel heard and understood and asking the client thought provoking, empowering questions. While there is no good or bad energy, the less stress and negative emotions we have in our day to day, the more (energetically) fueled we will be to act on our goals and implement positive change in our behaviors, interactions and life at large.

 

Execute Actions

Before the end of each coaching conversation, Raihana will work with you to identify action items that you will take to progress towards your goal identified earlier in the session. Raihana will work with you to get specific and centered about each action item, so you will leave the session knowing exactly what you need to accomplish, by when your actions will be completed, and how you will hold yourself accountable.

 

Utilize Resources

Your coaching journey expands way beyond the coaching sessions that you'll have with Raihana. In addition to your time with Raihana, you will have access to coaching resources tailored to your specific needs. You will be encouraged to use these resources in between coaching sessions. These resources will help you access your intuition, define your life purpose and mission, get clarity on what you really want, and help you develop short/long term goals to help you structure your life. These resources include but are not limited to: understanding & reprioritizing your values, setting goals like a pro, creating your ideal version of yourself, wheel of life, wheel of leadership, vision board and more.

 

Propel Yourself Forward and Repeat

You will develop unstoppable belief in yourself through deep introspection between sessions. Coaching works best when you fully take the lead in your transformation journey. Part of that is creating dedicated time to reflect on your own thoughts, which will help you build and increase your self awareness. The more self aware you are, the more able you will be to catch yourself in the moment and consciously decide what behavior you will exhibit or what action/decision you will make. And when you get stuck along the way, Raihana is always a resource in your toolkit who you can access when you decide to.
